Central Library Manuscripts

One of the attractions of the Central Library, Islamia College Peshawar is its manuscripts collection. They are very historic, composed/printed thousands of years ago, and are very rare. Some of them cannot be found even in the libraries of the Europe or other western countries.

The manuscripts are written on various subjects including Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Religion, Astronomy etc.

The oldest manuscript of the library is “Kitab-ul-Aghani” written by “Abul Farah Ali Bin Hussain Asfahani” which is almost 1200 years old. This manuscript has four chapters i.e Biographies, Physics, Arabic Grammar and Poetry, written in Arabic Language. This is the best example of Kashmiri Art.
